Fictional Backstory: The mutants are believed by some to have come into being by radiation, causing genetic disturbances in both human and viral genes. This combination causes its victims to lose all human reasoning and making them beyond savage. Rarely do they leave a victim alive and never in one piece! Some mutants have seemed to develop increased strength and resilience making them extremely difficult to kill. (And yes, there are even some animal mutants!) Your average mutant will easily leave the toughest marauder crying like a spoiled school girl if they weren’t already torn to pieces by then.
Out of the wasteland, to combat this problem, comes the Mutant Hunters! This tribe, put together by their founders “Dozer” and “The Padre”, have made it their mission in life to hunt down and destroy every mutant that can be found! Each member of the tribe has been chosen for their specific lethal skills as well as an unbridled hatred of mutants (it’s rumored that all have lost family and loved ones to mutant attacks). The M.H. Tribe roams the wasteland, traveling from settlement to settlement, offering their services in ridding the area of the vile vermin. They barter their services for food, water, fuel, or whatever specialties each community offers. If you wish to hire them for their services, they can be contacted on Citizens Band Channel 10 (if they’re in range) or by telegraph using Telegraph code 71265.
Who We Really Are: The Mutant Hunters are a tribe based in Southern California with members ranging from San Diego to San Francisco. When we formed, we were looking to do something that set us apart. Other participants were portraying MFP, mauraders, defenders, etc so we looked just a little outside the Mad Max franchise and decide to be mutant hunters. We settled on mutants (as opposed to zombies) since it was in line with the post-nuclear theme of the event.
